Fukuoka is a city with history and tradition, and also the place where you can always see novelty arises out of the existing framework.
Canal City resides in the middle between Tenjin area, the largest commercial district in Kyushu, and a business area around JR Hakata Station. It adjoins the Nakasu area, which is well-known as an entertainment district.
You can access Canal City very easily either by bus, subway or foot.
The vicinity of Canal City is also known to remain traditional Japanese buildings and the old streetscape.

With Nishitetsu bus, adult fare per person to Tenjin or Hakata Station is 100 yen and to Hakata Port International Terminal is 220 yen. For your convenience, bus stop is also located adjacent to CANALCITY HAKATA.

It is a very convenient way to get to CANALCITY HAKATA from Tenjin or Hakata Station.

Major destinations in Fukuoka are connected by the Fukuoka City Subway network. Trains depart frequently so you can travel very quickly. The adult fare from Nakasu-Kawabata Station to Tenjin is 200 yen while to Fukuoka Airport is 250 yen.

- Tenjin
- The center of Fukuoka and largest commercial district in Kyushu.

- Nakasu
- The most well-known entertainment district in Kyushu. Stalls will be set up at night around Canal City Hakata.

- Hakata Riverain
- A facility complex with famous brand shops, a traditional theatre and an art museum.

- JR Hakata Station
- The terminal train station for the trip to Honshu and many other places in Kyushu.

- Hakata Machiya Folk Museum
- Here you can get close to the traditional culture of Fukuoka.

- Kushida Shrine
- A shrine dedicated to the grand tutelary of Hakata and long loved by local people. The picture depicts a scene from Hakata Gion Yamakasa festival held every year in July at Kushida Shrine.

- Rakusui-en
- A traditional Japanese Garden in the Chisen-kaiyushiki style (wet garden with promenade), which was developed in the Edo era. There is a tea ceremony room, a pond and a waterfall in the garden.
